Kool Stop Brake Pads 140602 Editorial Review
The Kool Stop Dura 2 Brake Inserts have garnered a largely positive reception from a variety of seasoned cyclists. Users note the significant benefits of using these pads, particularly highlighting their quiet operation, reduced rim wear, and Consistent stopping power across different weather conditions. Many have compared these pads favorably to other brands, such as Shimano Dura-Ace and Swiss Stop, particularly praising the Dura 2 for its ability to perform well even when the conditions are less than ideal. The thicker design of the Kool Stop Dura 2 offers an excellent value proposition, allowing for effective braking without excessively degrading the rim material. Cyclists appreciate this feature especially because they tend to prefer replacing brake pads more often than dealing with the complications of rim replacement. The salmon-colored compound is often noted for its superior performance in wet conditions, further contributing to customer satisfaction. Despite their advantages, some users have reported issues with gripping performance, particularly at the rear, suggesting that individual installation and adjustment may play a role in maximizing braking efficiency. However, the overwhelming sentiment remains that these brake pads are superior to the stock alternatives, particularly on various bike types and rim materials. Overall, the Kool Stop Dura 2 Brake Inserts are viewed as a reliable and effective choice for cyclists looking to enhance their bike’s braking performance, particularly those concerned with rim wear and requiring dependable stopping power in diverse conditions. **
