Science Fiction Editorial Review
The X-Men franchise strikes again with their latest installment, Dark Phoenix. Unfortunately, this one falls short of expectations. While the cast is as great as ever and the special effects are impressive, the plot feels like a throwaway, leaving more questions than answers. Many fans were disappointed with the missed opportunity for creativity and hoped for a storyline that would transition the prequels into the originals. Overall, the potential was wasted, which makes it frustrating to watch. Dark Phoenix is enjoyable in a vacuum but doesn't live up to the expectations fans had for the X-Men franchise.
