What is the MOONTHLIES Reusable Menstrual Disc made of?

The MOONTHLIES Reusable Menstrual Disc is crafted from medical-grade silicone, ensuring it is safe for your body while being durable and reusable. This material is hypoallergenic, making it a great option for individuals with sensitive skin or allergies. Additionally, being silicone-based allows the disc to maintain its shape over time, meaning you can rely on it for consistent performance during your menstrual cycle.

How do you insert and remove the menstrual disc?

To insert the MOONTHLIES Menstrual Disc, fold it in half and gently push it into the vaginal canal at an angle towards your tailbone. Once it’s in place, it will pop open and form a seal to prevent leaks. To remove it, simply use the removal loop stem to grasp and gently pull it out. This design ensures ease of use, especially if you’re switching from traditional menstrual products. Regular practice will enhance your comfort and confidence.

Can the menstrual disc be used during sexual intercourse?

Yes, the MOONTHLIES Reusable Menstrual Disc can be used during intercourse. Unlike menstrual cups, which can be bulky, the disc sits higher in the vaginal canal and is less likely to interfere. This feature allows users to remain active and maintain intimacy during their periods without concerns about leakage or discomfort, making it a versatile option for those who prefer to not restrict activities during their cycle.

How do you clean and care for the menstrual disc?

Cleaning the MOONTHLIES Reusable Menstrual Disc is simple: after removal, rinse it under warm water and wash it with a mild, fragrance-free soap. Ensure you store it in a clean, breathable pouch or container when not in use. Proper maintenance can extend the life of your disc and keep it hygienic, allowing you to use it confidently throughout your menstrual cycle.

Is the menstrual disc suitable for all flow types?

Absolutely! The MOONTHLIES Reusable Menstrual Disc is designed to accommodate all flow types, whether light or heavy. Its unique design allows it to hold more fluid than traditional pads, making it ideal for heavier days while remaining comfortable and secure. This versatility means you can confidently use it for your entire cycle without needing to switch between products as your flow changes.

What are the environmental benefits of using a menstrual disc?

Choosing the MOONTHLIES Reusable Menstrual Disc greatly reduces menstrual product waste. Unlike disposable pads and tampons, which contribute significantly to landfill waste, a reusable disc can last for years with proper care. This sustainable alternative not only benefits the environment but can also save you money over time, making it a smart choice for eco-conscious individuals who want to minimize their carbon footprint.

How does the menstrual disc compare to menstrual cups?

While both the MOONTHLIES Reusable Menstrual Disc and menstrual cups are alternatives to pads and tampons, they differ in design and use. The disc tends to be easier to insert and remove due to its removal loop stem, making it more beginner-friendly. Additionally, the disc is positioned higher in the vaginal canal and can even be worn during sex, which is not recommended with menstrual cups. This flexibility enhances comfort during use, especially for those new to menstrual products.

What are the size options for the menstrual disc?

The MOONTHLIES Reusable Menstrual Disc is designed with versatility in mind and typically comes in sizes that cater to different anatomical needs and flow levels. When selecting a size, your personal comfort and flow intensity are key factors. The disc's adaptable shape allows it to fit snugly regardless of size, making it user-friendly for both individuals who have given birth and those who have not, ensuring that everyone can find their ideal fit.

How long can I wear the menstrual disc at a time?

The MOONTHLIES Reusable Menstrual Disc can be worn for up to 12 hours, depending on your flow. This extended wear time means you can go about your day without needing frequent changes like with pads or tampons. Whether you’re at work, exercising, or sleeping, the disc’s leak-proof design provides reliable protection, ensuring you stay comfortable and worry-free throughout the day or night.
