The Godox S85T Softbox features a diameter of 33.5 inches (85cm). This size is ideal for creating soft, even lighting that is perfect for portrait photography, product shots, and studio setups. The larger surface area allows for diffused light that reduces harsh shadows, providing a more flattering look in various photography scenarios.

What is a Bowens mount and why is it important?

A Bowens mount is a standard fitting used for attaching softboxes and other light modifiers to studio lights. This mount is widely recognized in the photography industry, making the Godox S85T Softbox compatible with various Bowens mount lights. The advantage of this compatibility is that photographers can easily switch between different light sources without needing multiple modifiers, leading to more flexible lighting setups.

Can the Godox S85T Softbox be used for video lighting?

Yes, the Godox S85T Softbox is suitable for video lighting as well as photography. Its ability to diffuse light evenly makes it ideal for creating soft lighting conditions that are flattering for both subjects and backgrounds in video production. Whether you're shooting interviews, product videos, or vlogs, this softbox provides the quality of light that enhances your video content.

What is included with the Godox S85T Softbox?

The Godox S85T Softbox comes with the softbox itself and a diffuser. The diffuser is designed to soften the light further, helping to minimize stark contrasts and harsh shadows. This setup is particularly beneficial for portrait photographers looking to achieve a dreamy, soft-focus effect, making subjects appear more natural.

Is the Godox S85T Softbox portable?

Yes, the Godox S85T Softbox is designed for portability. Its compact size and lightweight design make it easy to transport for on-location shoots. Photographers who frequently move between studios or outdoor settings will find it convenient to carry, allowing for versatility in lighting setups without sacrificing quality.

What type of photography is the Godox S85T Softbox ideal for?

The Godox S85T Softbox is ideal for various types of photography, including portrait, fashion, and product photography. Its ability to produce soft, diffused light helps to highlight the finer details in subjects while minimizing harsh shadows. It is especially popular among professional photographers who require consistent lighting quality across different shoots.

How do you set up the Godox S85T Softbox?

Setting up the Godox S85T Softbox is straightforward. Start by securing the Bowens mount to your light source, and then attach the softbox by aligning the mount with the light. Open the softbox structure and attach the diffuser at the front for softer light. This quick setup process allows you to transition easily between different lighting needs during shoots.

Is the Godox S85T Softbox compatible with speedlights?

While the Godox S85T Softbox is primarily designed for Bowens mount studio lights, it can also be used with speedlights if you have the appropriate adapter. Adapters enable you to mount your speedlight securely to the softbox, allowing you to achieve beautiful soft lighting effects typical of larger studio setups while using portable lighting solutions.

How does the diffusion material affect the light?

The diffusion material used in the Godox S85T Softbox softens the light output, reducing harshness and creating a flattering light quality. This softening effect minimizes shadows and provides a more even illumination across the entire scene. The result is a more professional-looking final image, which is essential for portrait and product photography where aesthetic quality matters.
