Bethesda Games 11881 Editorial Review
**** Wolfenstein: The New Order for PlayStation 3 has garnered a mixed yet predominantly positive reception from gamers, particularly those familiar with the franchise. Many players praise the game's graphics, describing them as "kick ass" and noting the overall fun gameplay experience. The new storyline, combined with thrilling action elements, has won over fans of the series, especially with the inclusion of innovative features like a hidden "Nightmare" level that takes players back to the 3D version of the original game, adding a nostalgic touch. While some reviewers do note that the game has a linear progression reminiscent of titles like SOCOM, they still find plenty of enjoyment in completing objectives and uncovering hidden areas within the game. The game’s replay value is also highlighted, as player choices affect the outcome of the storyline, keeping the experience engaging across multiple playthroughs. On the downside, a few common criticisms emerged from the feedback. The control scheme shows a noticeable divergence from other first-person shooters, which some players found frustrating — causing tweaking and adjustment pains. Additionally, several players noted the awkward inclusions of certain cutscenes that felt unnecessary and detracted from the gameplay. Ultimately, despite some notable shortcomings, players regard Wolfenstein: The New Order as a worthy addition to the franchise, delivering intense action, an engaging story, and visually stunning graphics that merit its price point. **
