waveshare Single Board Computers 7inch DSI LCD Editorial Review
**** The Waveshare 7-inch Capacitive Touch Display has garnered mixed reviews from customers who have tried to integrate it with Raspberry Pi devices. For some users, the display proves to be an excellent addition, providing a quick setup and a commendable picture quality, particularly when connected to a Raspberry Pi 3B+. Positive experiences highlight the user-friendly functionality of the display once the configuration is done correctly. However, this positive feedback is juxtaposed with a significant number of frustrations from other users who struggled to get their units to function at all. Those facing challenges have cited compatibility issues, especially regarding the display’s connection to various Raspberry Pi models (including the 4B and 3B+) and the accompanying ribbon cables. Users have reported encountering errors that prevent the display from functioning, leading some to label the product as a "useless paperweight." A common complaint revolves around the lack of clear instructions and the need to refer to an online user guide that is not included in the package. The vague support from Waveshare’s documentation has left some customers feeling abandoned, especially given the additional configuration steps required to get the display working. In essence, while the Waveshare display has the potential to enhance Raspberry Pi projects with its capacitive touch functionality, the inConsistencies in user experiences can be a hurdle, and Prospective buyers might want to weigh these Considerations against their needs. **
